Form Styling & Branding¶
Customise the look and feel of your forms to match your brand. Branding features are available on the Pro plan and above.
Themes¶
Drift includes six built-in themes:
| Theme | Description |
|---|---|
| Default | Clean, modern look with the Drift water palette |
| Minimal | Stripped-back design with subtle borders |
| Bold | Strong colours and prominent elements |
| Dark | Dark background with light text |
| Ocean | Blue-green tones inspired by the sea |
| Sunset | Warm gradient tones |
Select a theme in the form builder under Settings → Branding.
Custom Colours¶
Override theme colours with your own brand palette:
- Primary Colour — headings, buttons, and key elements
- Accent Colour — highlights, focus states, and interactive elements
- Background Colour — the form background
Granular Colour Controls¶
For more precise control, expand the detailed colour settings:
- Heading Colour — override the colour of section and form headings
- Body Text Colour — set the colour for labels and body text
- Input Border Colour — customise the border colour of text fields and dropdowns
- Input Background Colour — set the background inside input fields
Use any hex colour value. Leave a field empty to inherit from the selected theme.
Typography¶
Choose from five font families:
| Font | Style |
|---|---|
| Default | System font stack (clean, fast-loading) |
| Serif | Classic serif typeface |
| Mono | Monospace / code-style |
| Rounded | Soft, friendly rounded font |
| Elegant | Refined, sophisticated typeface |
Logo & Cover Image¶
- Logo — upload your logo to display at the top of the form
- Cover Image — add a banner image above the form content
Both appear on the public form page and adapt to mobile screens.
Uploading¶
Drag an image onto the upload area or click to choose one. Images can be up to 5 MB in size and may be JPEG, PNG, GIF, SVG, or WebP.
Reusing images from your library¶
Every image you upload is saved to your personal media library. To pick one you've used before, click Library in the upload area. Your library shows everything you've uploaded — hover any thumbnail to see its filename, click to use it, or click the trash icon to delete it.
If you delete an image that's currently used as the logo or cover on one or more forms, Drift will list those forms and ask you to confirm before removing the image. Confirming clears the image from those forms' branding.
You can also paste an external image URL using the From URL tab — pasted URLs are not saved to your library.
Form Styling Options¶
Fine-tune the form's visual details:
Border Radius¶
Controls the roundness of inputs, buttons, and cards:
- None — sharp corners
- Small — slightly rounded
- Medium — moderately rounded (default)
- Large — fully rounded / pill-shaped
Button Style¶
How the submit button appears:
- Filled — solid background colour (default)
- Outlined — transparent with a border
- Ghost — no background or border, text only
Button Shape¶
- Default — follows the border radius setting
- Pill — fully rounded pill-shaped buttons
Transparent Background¶
Enable Transparent Background to remove the form's background colour entirely. This is particularly useful when embedding forms or workflows into a website — the form blends seamlessly with the surrounding page design.
Button Animation¶
Add a subtle animation to the submit button:
- None — static button
- Pulse — gentle pulsing effect
- Glow — soft glow around the button
- Shine — a light sweep across the button
Background Effect¶
Add visual interest to the form background:
- None — solid colour
- Gradient — subtle gradient effect
- Subtle Pattern — light textured background
Form Shadow¶
Control the card shadow around the form:
- None — flat, no shadow
- Soft — subtle shadow
- Elevated — prominent shadow for a floating appearance
Footer¶
By default, forms display a small "Powered by Drift" footer. On Pro plans and above, you can hide this footer in the branding settings.
Branding Preview¶
All styling changes are reflected in real-time in the builder's preview. Use the Preview button to see the full form experience with your branding applied.
Tips¶
- Consistency — use your brand's primary colour as the form's primary colour for a cohesive feel
- Contrast — ensure text is readable against your background colour
- Mobile — check how your branding looks on mobile by resizing your preview window
- Logo size — logos are automatically scaled; square or horizontal logos work best
